4 Reasons Businesses Should Include LinkedIn in their Social Media Marketing
There are many business professionals out there that steer clear of LinkedIn for one reason or another and end up only utilizing Facebook and Twitter. I never really understood why this happened until I started reading specific articles and blog posts regarding certain people’s thoughts about LinkedIn, from internet marketers to executive professionals. The general consensus is that there are many individuals who are not comfortable with utilizing LinkedIn because it has a more complex nature than Facebook and Twitter; therefore it is not being included in their social media marketing. This is understandable but only to a certain extent. If something is more complex than there is more opportunity. Here are 5 reasons why your business should include LinkedIn in their social media marketing efforts.
1. Search Engine Reputation Management (SERM)
Google generally gives both company and personal LinkedIn pages a fairly high rank in searches that include either the company name or an individual’s name who works for the company. The more real estate you acquire on the first couple pages of Google, the more insurance you have to protect your business from search engine reputation management issues.
2. Increase Your Brand’s Visibility
By utilizing all the different parts of interaction on LinkedIn, you will create visibility for your company. Examples of this would be your employees and executives adding connections, answering questions and participating in discussion groups that pertain to your businesses. This may also lead people to consider your employees as thought leaders and industry experts.
3. Product and/or Service Feature
There is much more to a company LinkedIn page than just a profile. Another useful feature is the company product and/or services section. This allows you to add an image or YouTube video and a description of your product with links to the product page on your website. Clients can also review your products and services on LinkedIn.
4. Recruiting New Talent
LinkedIn is a recruiting gold mine for new talent to fill job positions that you may need for your business. This is a professional network and more times than none, you will have a better chance of filling a position on LinkedIn than on Facebook or Twitter. Studies show that LinkedIn decreases the time to fill a position by 50%. You can easily search people by keyword, company and geography.
Just like any other social media platform, LinkedIn makes it fairly easy to set-up a company page. You need to make sure that you utilize all the different features to get the most out of it. Way too many businesses just list their name and basic information. Take advantage of LinkedIn’s new company page and create those links back to your website, which create another lead generation tool for your business.
